Art
The School's Art Department is home to a wide variety of styles and media. As well as the usual two dimensional media, digital photography, sculpture, ceramics and printmaking are also widely available for pupil use.
The variety and excellence of the artwork produced by pupils is on display in the main school building and includes large exhibitions of GCSE, AS and A level work each summer. Our pupils enjoy considerable success in public examinations and regularly gain entry to top Art School's and University Art Departments.
The pupils benefit from regular field trips to bring to light classroom practice, with frequent visits to museums, galleries and lectures both locally and in Edinburgh and Newcastle. Sixth Form students are offered the opportunity to participate in a combined Art/Drama trip to Paris which enables them to visit the city's world-famous cultural sites.
