CDT
CDT, Craft Design and Technology, provides pupils with hands-on material experience, plus a grounding in engineered design, manufacture and construction. Project work focuses on three main resistant materials: wood, plastic and metal. Students work on projects involving each material geared to teaching them a variety of practical skills. Craft Design and Technology is a very popular subject and we run extracurricular activities for those who wish to develop and further their own projects.
In addition to the basic materials work we also incorporate electronics, mechanics, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM) into our projects as appropriate. The department has a number of laptop computers for the pupils and exam-specific tuition support.
