Business and Economics A Level

Why have mortgage rates gone down?  What is the economic impact of a change of government?  Why do I buy more at the supermarket than I intend?  These are all questions that are answered within the Business and Economics classroom.

The uniqueness of this combined A Level course is such that there is more than a dual impact.  The strong theoretical underpinning of Economics in tandem with the practical application of Business Studies enables the students to develop a strong understanding of the world in which they operate.

From ‘sexy' marketing to Keynesian theory all is covered in this subject area.  Case studies, group discussions and teacher led exposition make up most lessons with a real opportunity to develop working skills through the Young Enterprise programme.  External speakers bring a richness to the programme alongside a healthy awareness of examination techniques and application.  Newspapers and current events highlight the ever reactive nature of business and more recently the students have relished the chance to challenge existing economic paradigms.

I would recommend this mixed course to all students that wished to read any Business or Economics related degree alongside all budding entrepreneurs.
