Golden Square Singers, are actively recruiting new members. We are looking for enthusiastic adult singers of all ages and experience. We sing a wide variety of music from 20th century pop to medieval madrigals, with a sprinkling of folk, gospel and classical in between. We do not hold auditions and there is no requirement to be able to read music. 

If you know anyone who might be interested in joining us. We meet on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 at the Berwick Baptist Church Hall. The first week is free then its £4 per week with a £10 joining fee for which you get a set of current music in a natty blue folder.

Fool’s Gold: Stories with Strings, St Cuthbert’s Church Norham, Saturday 12th May 7pm Tickets £7; U16s free - on the door.

Fool’s Gold is Steve and Carol Robson - they are hugely popular and perform all over the UK in village halls, community spaces, churches and small theatres. Over the past few years they have played to over 50,000 people! Carol and Steve are multi instrumentalists and the live show features a wide range of instruments. The show is rooted in music, but is much more than just a concert performance. They use live music, stories and projected visuals to weave a fascinating show for all ages.

As well as performing all the songs live, Fool’s Gold reveal the stories behind the songs, the histories and mysteries, tragedies and romances that gave rise to some original and some  very well-known songs. The songs are engaging, catchy and melodic — audience participation is unavoidable! But only in a good way!

Charity Community Concert

On Friday 15th June, pupils from Longridge Towers School will be joining forces with Norham First School and Norham Junior Singers to hold a Summer Charity Concert at Norham St Cuthbert's Church. Pupils are hoping to raise much-needed funds for The North Northumberland Hospice, Children in Need and Cash for Kids. A varied programme is promised and it is hoped as may people as possible can support this event and the worthy causes.

The concert begins at 6.00pm. Entry is free however we are hoping to raise money by holding a raffle during the interval and by asking for donations for the charities at the end of the performance.
