Junior experience

Contrary to the old aphorism, at Longridge we believe children should be both seen and heard and our junior pupils are no exception.

The school day for pupils in Reception to J3 (4 - 7 years) begins at 8.45 am and ends at 3.15 pm.  When lessons end until 4.45 pm there are optional afternoon clubs to ensure the younger children are happily and fruitfully occupied.  There are no additional charges for these activities.

The clubs currently comprise of:

Monday

Fitness and Fun - an enjoyable session with lots of action and ball skills

Tuesday

Arts and Crafts

Wednesday

Drama

Thursday

Book Club

Friday

Board Games

The extended school day for pupils in J4 -J6 (8 - 11 years) ends at 3.50 pm.  Activities such as CDT, swimming and Home Economics are built into the day but there is also a full enrichment programme which runs at lunchtime and between 3.50 pm and 4.45 pm.  All ‘juniors' are involved in Sports Days, swimming galas and house competitions as well as our much anticipated Hallowe'en and Christmas Parties.
