A day in the life
"Hate Mondays? Most people don't like getting out of bed to go to school on a Monday morning. However Form 3's Monday is something to look forward to, not to dread.
A Monday morning starts with a lesson of Drama, which is uplifting, and it wakes you up. Due to these great drama lessons, we have managed to produce a production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", which went well, and everyone enjoyed it.
Drama is followed by history. The lesson is very interesting, and we have been studying the World Wars recently, which has been attention-grabbing. Every time we come out of a history lesson, we all feel confident that we have learnt something that will be useful in the future.
Third lesson of the day is English. This year in English we have been analysing poems from a range of different poets, including Thomas Hardy, William Wordsworth, William Blake and W H Auden.
After break, we have Chemistry, which is a fascinating subject that makes you want to learn more. Sciences are needed a lot just now, to get into university and go on to get a good job.
Following Lunch, we have Art where we sink our hands into soft clay, and create extraordinary sculptures, all based on natural forms.
To finish the day, we have French. Languages are very useful. They also improve our communication with people from other countries, and trips such as the German Exchange and the French Trip are a great success. Everyone in Form 3 is continuing at least one language for GCSE, and we wait to explore the languages further.
Form 3 is fantastic at Longridge. We are all nervous but looking forward to moving up to Form 4, and facing our GCSEs. However, we have happy memories of Form 3, and always will. We hope the next Form 3 will enjoy the year as much as we did."
