Longridge Juniors are mad as hatters

Longridge Towers School became “curiouser and curiouser” this week when Alice in Wonderland was brought to the stage by our hugely creative Junior School.

From the moment Alice tumbled into Wonderland, the stage burst into life with dazzling colours, imaginative costumes and non-stop excitement. Every member of the cast delivered confident, energetic performances that brought every curious character to life.

From tea party chaos to royal drama, there were plenty of laughs, surprises and magical moments that had the audience completely captivated and completely in agreement that “we’re all mad here!”

On Tuesday, we welcomed visiting schools to the dress rehearsal and pupils from Prior Park, St Cuthbert’s and Norham St Ceolwulf’s had an absolute blast as they watched the Longridge performers put on a vibrant show. We then had families and friends for the Tuesday and Thursday night performances, and they were so taken aback by the incredible talent that they probably woke up the next day thinking I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast!”

There were a few unexpected twists and turns in Wonderland as audiences were drawn into discovering whether Alice could find her way home but after a magical story was brilliantly told by the young performers they were ultimately left thankful that “if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there”.

Huge thanks go to the Junior staff and pupils for putting on another great show in the Longridge history of theatre, and a special thanks is reserved for our wonderful catering team who produced an absolutely magical spread fit for the Mad Hatter himself, and helped to make the performance even more special for our pupils, families and guests.
