Enrichment

Longridge Towers runs an extensive co-curricular programme known as enrichment. Quite simply, it is designed to complement and enrich the experience of pupils in the School.

Enrichment activities available for pupils in EYFS, J1 and J2 (Jerningham building). A structured play session will run from 3.15 – 3.55pm each day, which will be outdoors whenever the weather permits. Enrichment activities will then run from 4 – 4.40pm each day in line with the rest of the Junior Department.

Enrichment for pupils in Year 3 to Year 6 (Stobo building) usually takes place at the end of the main school day, between 4.00 and 4.40pm, although some events may also happen at lunch time.

If pupils are interested in sport, music or drama, there are many opportunities to become involved. Older pupils may also wish to attend sessions of general interest such as Adventure Service Challenge, Sports Club, Book Club, or join in a curriculum-based activity like Spanish or Latin. A supervised homework club option is also available for Year 3 – Year 6 pupils who wish to get on with academic work, whilst having access to staff and resources should they need it. This is often a popular choice for those with long bus journeys home.

The diverse range of enrichment activities on offer at Longridge means that there should be something to interest everyone. However, if not, there is no harm in suggesting something new!
