Former pupil returns to Longridge … by air!

A FORMER pupil made a unique return this week when he flew his RAF plane over the top of the School.
Now a fully fledged RAF pilot, the Longridgian was flying an Airbus A400M Atlas from RAF Brize Norton near Oxford in the south of England back north to familiar territory on Wednesday morning, when he realised he had time for a quick loop around Berwickshire and in off the North Sea over Longridge before heading back south – a journey that took less than two-and-a-quarter hours.
Longridge Headmaster Jonathan Lee said: “We are always delighted to welcome pupils back to Longridge and to let us know how their careers are going now, but I have to say this is the first time that we have seen a student fly over the top of the school.
“While he didn’t have time to stop in and see us this time, it was a fine way for us to reconnect with this particular Longridgian, and see first-hand how he is hitting the heights in his RAF career!”
