Scholarships and Bursaries

Scholarships

Our Scholarship program is designed to celebrate and promote excellence at all ages; the application process here is intended to be simple and easy to complete.

As part of a formal process, we trust that you check the accuracy of your form before submission.

If you are applying for more than one Scholarship, this can be done on the form below.

Please note that Bursaries are separate to our scholarship programme. Applications from current pupils require a recommendation from their Head of Year or Head of Junior Department before submission.

Art Scholar. (Senior School pupils only – applications accepted from Year 6 pupils moving to Form 1 in September 2026). Please note that an art portfolio must accompany the Scholarship application, and applicants should be prepared to consider their work and experience with the Head of Art as part of their assessment on 28th November.

Music Scholar. (Senior School pupils only – applications accepted from Year 6 pupils moving to Form 1 in September 2026). We hold auditions on 14th November; pupils should expect to perform a piece, aural tests and sight reading tasks, as well as discuss their interests and achievements with the Director of Music.

Sport Scholar. (Senior School pupils only – applications accepted from Year 6 pupils moving to Form 1 in September 2026). We hold a selection afternoon that consider skills, fitness and leadership qualities on 28th November. Interviews are held with our Head of Sport.

Academic Scholar. (Junior and Senior pupils – scholarships available from Year 4 for entry into Year 5 in September 2026). In Senior School, we assess attainment at formal examinations on 14th November for external candidates that include Mathematics, English, and Verbal Reasoning. For Sixth Form scholarships, candidates will also sit papers in their preferred subjects. (Internal candidates 21st November).

Internal candidates for Junior School Academic Scholarships will be assessed in school during the week beginning 10th November. Junior Scholarships involve assessments in Maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning and an informal discussion with the Co-Heads of the Junior Department. We would invite external junior aged candidates to join us for two Taster Days during this week, during which the scholarship assessments will take place.

Bursaries

In addition to the Scholarships, a Governors’ Bursary Scheme is available for entry to the School. The aim of this is to assist those families whose income is such that they would not be able to allow their child to benefit from the education offered by the school. Bursaries are awarded on the basis of a statement of annual income and completion of the usual entry procedures which include an interview with the Headmaster and an assessment in English, Mathematics and a Reasoning (I.Q) test.

Parents who wish to apply for a bursary should complete the School’s registration form and request a Bursary form from the Bursar, Mrs V Bryson, [email protected] who would be pleased to discuss or clarify, in confidence, any matter relating to the scheme.
