Swimmers making waves in Olympic company

A group of Longridge swimmers have been making waves in their latest competitions.

Felicity Flannigan (F1) swam in her first East District competition last weekend at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh, alongside teammates Joseph Vassie, and Poppy and Isabella (Izzy) Shaw, who all swim for the Eyemouth club. Izzy qualified for three finals and won a bronze medal.

Another Longridge pupil Liam Warner also had an excellent weekend competing for his Haddington team.

This weekend Poppy, Liam and Sandy Brown will compete at the Edinburgh International Meet, sharing the pool with some of the UK’s leading Commonwealth and Olympic Games athletes, including Adam Peaty.
